Our commitment to preserving the spirit of the J. Thibouville-Lamy legacy has seen us embark on a journey of re-creation. Introducing the J. Thibouville-Lamy Sarasate Artiste 4/4 Violin: A faithful reissue of timeless master craftsmanship.

Individually handcrafted by master luthiers, with original early 20th-century J. Thibouville-Lamy Sarasate violins by their side, Sarasate instruments use the finest selection of European tonewoods, naturally aged for over six years. The result are violins that offer the tonal maturity, depth, and dynamic response demanded by discerning students, advancing players, and professionals.

The Sarasate Artiste is crafted with a top carved from select, finely grained European spruce and a two-piece European maple back and sides showcasing a striking grade 3 flame. Its medium antiqued finish lends a traditional brown/red over gold aesthetic that reflects the grace of classic French violins.

A hand-applied oil varnish enhances both visual depth and tonal richness - allowing the maple’s figure to glow beneath a softly lustrous sheen.

As a final touch of authenticity, each Sarasate Artiste bears the iconic ‘Sarasate Artsite’ button mark, stamped with precision and pride by our skilled luthiers.

Sound character: A rich, expressive tonal palette combining clarity and warmth; this violin is a rewarding choice for the advanced or discerning player seeking an instrument with both sensitivity and sophistication.
